On Sunday, 31 March 2013, it was time for the town of Sedgefield to unite once again by participating in the annual Slow Festival Street Parade. The parade kicked off at the Sedgefield Primary School and made its way to the Village Green (despite going around the traffic circle in the wrong direction!)
In true slow town style, residents watching from the circle had to wait a hour to see the colourful parade. With the sound of children laughing and locals in the true festival spirit, well-known locals also participated. Gary White (Knysna FM presenter) also joined the parade with a grand motorcycle.
Easter eggs were also shared with the crowd, courtesy of the friendly Easter bunny. This was certainly a great and colourful event for the whole family, highlighting the festival’s purpose to have fun the old fashioned way. We’re already looking forward to next year.
Well done to the organizers, you’ve done a superb job and to the locals and visitors for braving Winter’s first weekend in Sedgefield. Photos by Eon Engelbrecht
